This strap was made in collaboration with wonderful Artisan women from a remote Zapotec village of the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains in México on the ancient back strap loom, these are not made with fabric, but rather hand woven, the designs are interwoven using the heddle rod, they are not embroidered. The cotton is hand-spun and dyed naturally with cochinilla (snail), cactus parasite and indigo plant to name some. Then I construct them in my Dallas home-studio.
